Introduction

The Northwest Paleontological Association (NPA) serves the Pacific Northwest region of the United States.  Formed to bring a vocational and professional paleontologists together for mutual benefit and to further the science, the NPA is affiliated with The Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture – located on the University of Washington campus in Seattle, WA.

The first NPA meeting was held in 1994 and by mid-1995, the Association had approved its Bylaws and has now grown to a  membership of about 70-90 people.

Our membership includes everyone from the newest of beginners to professional paleontologists. All of us are brought together by a common interest – to understand the nature of our region’s past.
